Open source and government.

There is a long way to go for our people to really get thw chance to excel and grow in the technology field. May me human. May be policy.  The government is not pro Open source.  There are many things that I like to do which can be done with open source. Such as ip address management, automatic network equipment backup.
I didn’t managed to harness support in usinh open source tools.
Time to rethink industry that I want to be in.

Galaxy Note 2 charging

Finally got the charging problem solved. No sure is it due to the latest firmware upgrade.  N2 took in only 200mA frombthe LG charger.
Off market USB cable is also not recognised well by the phone.  With original phone and Plantonics charger, im getting 1100mA of charging.
Thanks also to this great app that gives me visibility to the charging current – “Galaxy Charging Current”. Saves my day.

Passion

My passion lies with linux and settings things up to automate daily iT with open source. Particularly network management.
Would like to create virtualbox images containing various tools for easy deployment in environment to do network management.
Things like availability test with dependency test. Mac/IP address history for easy locating machines in network. Backup of network devices config. Redundant link monitoring and alerting. Routing paths.
